To manually update the maps for the MBUX system in the Mercedes EQA, the USB drive must be formatted using the NTFS or exFAT file system. MB-Cars officially recommends these two formats in the system requirements for the download manager. Since the EQA's MBUX system features USB-C ports, it is best to use a USB-C drive directly to avoid needing an adapter inside the vehicle. The flash drive must be completely empty before starting the download manager.
Use exFAT if the update data is being downloaded on a Mac. Macs cannot write to NTFS drives without additional software. Use NTFS if a Windows-only PC is being used. It offers slightly more stable data transfer for very large volumes of data (total data size: 36 GB).
